Globally, we have committed to eliminating HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as public health threats by 2030. To support this mission, our work on HIV, TB and Associated Infections seeks to strengthen the control of these communicable infections through supporting better prevention, early detection, and person-centred treatment and care.
Cross-border, regional collaboration is important for containing communicable diseases – there are no borders for viruses. Our Expert Group on HIV, Tuberculosis and Associated Infections monitors and regularly shares country updates on the epidemiological situation of the aforementioned communicable diseases and the treatment accessibility.
