Entrepreneurial success and employee health in harmony – advancing the Economy of Wellbeing in the Baltic Sea Region
“A healthy enterprise requires healthy workers” highlighted Dr. Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, Minister of Local and Regional Government of Finland, at the 3rd Baltic Sea Business Day in Rostock. Her remarks set the tone for an event focused on finding the critical alignment between economic success and employee wellbeing. Policymakers and business leaders urged a cross-sector shift toward preventive health measures to combat rising sick leave and secure long-term productivity across the region.

Arts for Health and Well-being Network meets in Szczecin, Poland
ArtWell NET is an initiative financially supported by the Swedish Institute that brings together experts from the health and cultural sectors to promote the concept of ‘Arts on Prescription’. The 20–21 April event was organised in a hybrid format and brought together experts and practitioners, creating the conditions for the exchange of experiences and the development of cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region and Ukraine.

PA Health at the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Annual Forum
The EUSBSR Annual Forum 2026 "RESILIENCE EDITION" will take place at Kultuurikatel in Tallinn, Estonia from May 11-13. With a breakout session “Caring for Those Who Care for Us: Resilience of the People Behind Health and Social Care“, Policy Area Health will take a stage on May 12. Health and social care services are the backbone of societal resilience. Every day, these professionals ensure continuity of care and often act as first responders during emergencies. Yet, this vital workforce is under growing strain. During the interactive session and debate, we will explore ways to support, strengthen, and sustain a workforce that can adapt in an increasingly volatile world.

From Preparedness to Recovery: Rethinking Workforce Resilience in Times of Crisis
The EPIC – ‘Effectively Prepared in Crisis’ project brought together new and longstanding colleagues at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology. Periods of acute crisis and emergencies, place exceptional demands on organizations, the systems that support work and emplyees. Together we identified what organisational factors play a key role in supporting employees’ work ability before, during and after crisis. This workshop kicks off a series of sessions using expert input and group exercises. Insights gathered will guide future EPIC activities and work within the OSH Expert Group and NDPHS.

Age-Friendly by Design: Why Employers Need SAFE Solutions
In January, the “Solutions for Age-Friendly Employer” (SAFE) project held a comprehensive training program in Estonia. The event brought together representatives from eleven organisations involved in the SAFE piloting process, including hospitals, care homes, and providers of rehabilitation, long-term care, and social services. The training marked an important step in supporting participating institutions as they implement and test the project’s solutions in practice.

ArtWell Net Launches in Stockholm: Strengthening links between culture and health
Held in December, 2025 at the NDPHS Secretariat, the event marked the beginning of an effort to address growing mental health challenges through non-medical, culture-based interventions. The launch comes at a critical time. Public health systems are under increasing strain, and while arts-based interventions are recognized as effective for managing mild to moderate mental health issues, many countries lack systematic integration of these approaches into their public health systems. The ArtWell Net partnership aims to close this gap.

NDPHS Sekretariaat soovib täpsustada hiljutistes meediakajastustes esitatud väiteid seoses Eesti otsusega lahkuda Põhjamõõtme tervishoiu ja sotsiaalse heaolu partnerluse (NDPHS) sekretariaadi kokkuleppest. Alljärgnev avaldus parandab faktivead ning annab vajalikku konteksti organisatsiooni tegevuse, väärtuste ja rolli kohta.
