Creating age-friendly workplaces that support longer, healthier working lives.

Age should not decide who gets to stay in the workforce. Working conditions, learning opportunities and workplace culture should enable people to keep contributing.

The Solutions for Age-Friendly Employer (SAFE) project brings together four partners from Estonia, Finland and Sweden to improve employment opportunities for people aged 55+, with a particular focus on health and social care.

Together with employers and employees, SAFE is developing and testing practical ways to support work ability, reduce age discrimination and strengthen cooperation between generations.

Join us on 4 November 2026 for the final workshop of SAFE’s collaborative process to develop policy recommendations for age-friendly workplaces.

Over several weeks, experts and practitioners have contributed ideas based on their knowledge and experience. This online workshop brings those contributions together, giving participants the opportunity to discuss and vote on the ideas they consider most important.

The priorities identified will inform a shared priority map and policy recommendations for decision-makers, helping turn practical experience into proposals for better working conditions and longer, sustainable working lives.
