Tiina Tambaum in the “Expert on Air”podcast: Is intergenerational cooperation a salvation?

28 April, 2025

Tiina Tambaum is a lecturer in social gerontology at Tallinn University Haapsalu College. The episode explores how opportunities for older adults are supported in Estonia and what more could be done to ensure they have a greater role and confidence in everyday life.

The program discusses age-friendly organizations – what employers can do to offer better conditions to older workers and what steps have already been taken. In addition, it takes a closer look at community work, which plays a major role in the social inclusion of older people. Estonia has a long tradition of cultural work, but how can community work be made more person-based and effective? The ABCD model of community work can offer new solutions that will help improve the inclusion of older people in Estonian society.

The Tallinn University podcast provides an overview of the current situation, future trends, and practical solutions that will help improve the inclusion of older people in Estonian society. The episode is available in Estonian with English subtitles provided by the Interreg Central Baltic. Click here to listen.
