NDPHS is looking for interns in Stockholm

The Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS) is an intergovernmental platform focused on improving public health and social well-being across the Northern Dimension area and the Baltic Sea Region. NDPHS brings together countries, international organizations, and experts to strengthen networks, exchange knowledge, and turn evidence into joint action.

As the Policy Area Health Coordinator of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, NDPHS supports regional collaboration that contributes to healthier people and more resilient societies. Together with its partners and stakeholders, NDPHS works toward sustainable and inclusive societies where everyone can enjoy good health and well-being throughout the life course. The partnership promotes health, prevents disease, reduces health inequalities, and addresses shared regional challenges through cross-sector and cross-border cooperation.

Description

The Internship Programme offers full-time, on-site internship based in Stockholm.

The intern will support the NDPHS Secretariat in day-to-day activities, including preparing briefings, meeting materials, and presentations, and assisting with organising conferences, webinars, and expert meetings.

We are looking for interns for two roles:

1. Communications Intern

This role is suitable for someone who is interested in public health, communications and social media and would like to develop their practical communication skills.

You may work on:

+ Creating content for LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram

+ Writing and editing news, articles, video content and other communication materials

+ Supporting our newsletters and website content

+ Developing social media ideas and campaigns

+ Creating simple visual content and working with tools such as Canva

+ Following public health topics and turning them into engaging content

We are looking for someone who:

+ Has an interest in public health and social well-being

+ Is interested in social media and digital communication

+ Has good writing and communication skills

+ Is creative, curious and willing to learn

+ Can work independently while being part of a small international team

+ Previous experience in social media management, communications or content creation is an advantage

2. Public Health Intern

This role is suitable for someone who interested in public health, with a particular interest in mental health, to support our projects and activities.

You may work on:

+ Supporting public health and mental health projects

+ Researching and summarising information and evidence

+ Supporting the organisation of meetings, workshops and events

+ Preparing communication and project materials

+ Helping with stakeholder engagement and knowledge-sharing activities

+ Supporting other activities of the NDPHS Secretariat

We are looking for someone who:

+ Has an interest in public health and mental health

+ Is interested in international cooperation and policy

+ Has good research, writing and organisational skills

+ Is curious, proactive and willing to learn

+ Can work independently and as part of a team

The Internship programme offers a monthly scholarship grant of 13 000 SEK.

Practical information

Location: Wollmar Yxkullsgatan 23, Stockholm, Sweden

Organisation: NDPHS Secretariat

Duration: 6-8 months

Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Start date: October/November 2026

Working language: English

No relocation and housing allowances are covered by the internship. You must present valid health insurance coverage during your stay in Sweden.

This internship is open to citizens of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden and Ukraine.
