SENIOR ADVISER POSITION AT THE NDPHS SECRETARIAT
General description of the NDPHS and the tasks and role of the NDPHS Secretariat
The Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS) consists of countries from the Baltic Sea Region and Northern Europe as well as several International Organisations. Our mission is to provide an inclusive transnational and cross-sectoral platform for knowledge exchange, health advocacy, and practical support to policy making.
The NDPHS Secretariat provides strategic, administrative, and communication support to the Partnership, and implements activities and projects that support the mission of the Partnership. The Secretariat is the main contact point and institutional memory of the Partnership.
The NDPHS Secretariat’s team includes the Director of the Secretariat, Senior Adviser, and project-based staff.
The NDPHS is looking for an experienced professional to fill the post of Senior Adviser at the NDPHS Secretariat from 1 March 2025.
Job description
The appointed Senior Adviser will assist and work under the supervision of the Director of the Secretariat.
Responsibilities
The position of Senior Advisor involves traveling to destinations in NDPHS Partner Countries and occasionally beyond.
Selection criteria
Considering that the NDPHS Secretariat has a broad portfolio of tasks and responsibilities, that need to be met by its small team, the ideal candidate will have the following profile:
Terms of employment
Citizens of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden are eligible for this position.
The initial appointment for the Senior Adviser will be for five years and shall begin on 1 March 2025. The first six months is a probationary period.
The place of employment is Stockholm.
A competitive remuneration and allowances package is offered based on professional background and family situation. This package may be exempted from Swedish taxation depending on personal circumstances.

Complete applications must arrive at the NDPHS Secretariat no later than 15 May 2024 COB. Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will be automatically rejected.
The NDPHS Secretariat will inform all applicants if they have been short-listed for interviews. The short-listed applicants will be invited for interviews held either at the NDPHS Secretariat premises in Stockholm or online. The interviews will conclude with a written test.
The successful candidate will be selected based on education, experience, motivation, personal characteristics, and best organizational fit.
